Job description

“In nature, nothing stands alone. The whole supports the parts, and at the same time, the parts support the whole. And they do so effortlessly.”

The Role

At WildLand, our food is about provenance. Quality ingredients, as local as possible and beautifully prepared. Our team is passionate about what we do and committed to supporting each other in pushing boundaries whilst working in kitchens designed to the highest standard. We are a group of people dedicated to looking after what we have and sharing that with our guests, and we understand that good food, sustainably sourced and produced, is part of the sharing. Joining the WildLand portfolio offers a lifestyle for the wild at heart, far removed from the urban pressures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work alongside the wider chef team and Head Chef in designing and implementing new recipes.
  2. Assist with the interactive “chef’s table” experience for our guests by engaging with them at the point of dish finishing and presentation, explaining your dishes and answering their questions
  3. Collaborate with the Head Chef in reviewing guest preferences ahead of their planned visit and accommodating specific requests, allergies and dietary or faith requirements
  4. Adapt with positivity to any late changes to preferences
  5. Partner with Head Chef in the planning of supplies, taking cognisance of the remote location of our venues
  6. Build strong relationships with local suppliers in order to access local ingredients of the highest quality
  7. Comfortable moving between busy and quiet periods and utilising the latter in a positive way e.g. team development, new menu development etc
  8. Assist with supervision and development of kitchen staff, ensuring that a “one team” approach is always maintained and that everyone works collaboratively to provide the best guest experience, and to support each other
  9. Support other Wildland venues as required
Who you are

To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate pastry chef with proven experience, ideally within a private Chef environment, or a fine dining ‘Chef’s Table’ set up. You’ll be an excellent team player, warm communicator, confident in interacting with guests and comfortable with the remote nature of a role with WildLand.
