Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Sous Chef to join our main kitchen team. This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to manage the daily operations of a busy and dynamic pastry section. You will oversee the preparation and production of all pastry and dessert items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and special events, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire the pastry team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
  • Oversee the production of all pastry items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and bespoke events
  • Maintain consistency in quality, taste, and presentation across all offerings
  • Support menu development and contribute innovative ideas for seasonal and signature creations
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist with training and development of junior team members
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel.
  • Exceptional technical skills in pastry and dessert preparation
  • A passion for creativity and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of hotel amenities
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Knowledge of current pastry trends and techniques
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
