Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic, creative, and able to work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Our vibrant Soho restaurant, NOPI, is seeking a Pastry Commis Chef to join our back-of-house team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop pastry skills in a supportive and creative environment.”

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing, baking, and presenting pastries and desserts to Ottolenghi’s high standards
  • Work under the guidance of the Pastry Chef de Partie and Head Pastry Chef
  • Learn and develop new skills while contributing to the smooth running of the pastry section
  • Help maintain an organised and hygienic workspace
  • Support stock control and assist in minimising food waste
  • Contribute to the team’s creativity and menu development through enthusiasm and dedication
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are consistently followed
The ideal Pastry Commis Chef will be:
  • Passionate about pastry and eager to develop professionally
  • Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player
  • Some kitchen or pastry experience is desirable but not essential – training will be provided
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and able to work under pressure in a busy environment
