Job summary

Baxter Storey is seeking a Pastry Chef for a fixed-term maternity cover in Manchester City Centre. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with paid overtime, from December 2026 to April 2027. It offers a temporary, full-time contract with potential relocation after the term.

You will lead the pastry and dessert offerings for events and staff dining, working with a high-quality team to deliver exceptional catering for bespoke dinners, corporate parties and large events.

Responsibilities

• To have sole responsibility of all desserts and pastry for the client floor and the staff dining.
• To ensure the food remains to the highest quality and consistency across all events.
• To manage food and produce ordering by keeping a record of wastage, stock holding and any food cost concerns.
• To work with the HeadChef with the development and costing of menus, ensuring we are keeping up to date with the latest trends.

Baxter Storey are looking for a Pastry Chef to Join the team in Manchester City Centre on a temporary role between December 2026 and April 2027. This will be a predominantly mid week role 40 hours per week with paid overtime. After the fixed term is completed we would look to re-locate you to another one of our sites however this can't beguaranteed

As a Pastry Chef in this venue, you will get a chance to create the finest quality of dishes and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. You will work with a structured team, that you will work closely with to create high end, tailored events from bespoke fine dining dinners to large scale corporate parties and outdoor events.

Key Responsibilities:

• To have sole responsibility of all desserts and pastry for the client floor and the staff dining.
• To ensure the food remains to the highest quality and consistency across all events.

• To assist the other sections where necessary
  • Very well organised and ability to prioritise work load
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in working in a 5 star hotel or 2 Rosette restaurant
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
