Job Purpose

The Pastoral Tutor will provide support, guidance, and mentoring to students to help them achieve their academic, personal, and career goals. The role involves promoting student well‑being, monitoring progress, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their welfare and well‑being are prioritised.
  • Monitor student attendance, punctuality, and progress, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Conduct one‑to‑one tutorials and group sessions to support personal development, study skills, and employability.
  • Work closely with curriculum staff and support teams to ensure students receive the help they need.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in college life.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and interventions.
  • Support the college's safeguarding and equality policies.
  • Help students set and review academic and personal targets.
  • Refer students to specialist services where appropriate (e.g., counselling, learning support, careers advice).
