Job Purpose:

The Pastoral Tutor will provide support, guidance, and mentoring to students to help them achieve their academic, personal, and career goals. The role involves promoting student well-being, monitoring progress, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their welfare and well-being are prioritised.
  • Monitor student attendance, punctuality, and progress, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Conduct one-to-one tutorials and group sessions to support personal development, study skills, and employability.
  • Work closely with curriculum staff and support teams to ensure students receive the help they need.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in college life.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and interventions.
  • Support the college's safeguarding and equality policies.
  • Help students set and review academic and personal targets.
  • Refer students to specialist services where appropriate (e.g., counselling, learning support, careers advice).
