A growing educational institution in the United Kingdom is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to oversee the Behaviour Support Centre and support positive student behaviour. The role requires strong management of behaviour incidents, maintaining a safe learning environment, and fostering high expectations for student engagement. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience and skills in behaviour management.

They will ensure that the room runs smoothly, uphold high standards of conduct, and manage all associated detention and behaviour administration with consistency and accuracy.
When not supervising the Behaviour Support Centre, the Pastoral Support Officer will work closely with the Key Stage Lead and the on-call team to help maintain a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment across the school. The postholder will model professionalism, promote positive behaviour and contribute to a culture of high expectations that supports students in making better choices and engaging fully in their learning.
Wixams Academy is a comprehensive Academy serving circa (in September 2023) 950 pupils including 120 pupils in the Sixth Form. We opened in 2017 with only 80 students and continue to grow annually (with new students and staff) to 1750 students and 200 staff by 2030. we are currently working with Bedford Borough Council and the Department for Education to expand the capacity of the school to facilitate this growth. The Academy has been popular and oversubscribed since opening and we have low staff turnover. The Academy is located one mile south of Bedford town centre and has a mixed community, with broadly national composition. We have recently merged Knowledge Schools Trust (KST) to create a local hub to drive further growth in the region.
