This is a rare and exciting opportunity to become part of our dedicated Pastoral Team and make a real difference in the lives of our children and families. If you are passionate about pastoral care, SEND provision and safeguarding, and would like to be part of an ambitious, respectful and high‑performing school family, then this is the role for you!

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our Pastoral, SEND and Safeguarding team, ensuring that systems and processes work efficiently and effectively. You will be highly organised, meticulous with record keeping, and able to build positive relationships with children, parents and external agencies.

You will provide high‑level support to staff and families across our school community, working proactively to ensure that every child feels safe, supported and ready to learn. Experience in supporting mental health and wellbeing would be an advantage, as would experience in delivering small group or 1:1 interventions — however, training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for our most vulnerable children and families.
  • Act as a first point of contact for parents and external agencies, ensuring needs are met.
  • Support children with SEND and those requiring additional support.
  • Take responsibility for administrative tasks within the Pastoral Office.
  • Provide administrative support to the SENDCo, Pastoral and Safeguarding team.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with parents and professionals, advocating for pupils’ best interests.
  • Lead on promoting mental health and wellbeing across the school community.
  • Take a proactive lead on attendance matters.
What we can offer you
  • A welcoming, inclusive and faith‑filled community where every child is valued and loved.
  • The opportunity to work in an Outstanding school with a strong culture of care, respect and achievement.
  • Supportive colleagues who work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Ongoing professional development and access to high‑quality training.
  • A chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families every day.
  • A comprehensive Employee Wellbeing package managed by Schools Mutual.
What we are looking for
  • A compassionate and dedicated practitioner with a genuine passion for supporting children and families.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive information confidentially.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to the ethos and values of our Catholic school.
  • Experience in pastoral care, SEND or safeguarding roles (desirable but not essential).
How to apply

Applicants should be supportive of our Catholic ethos. If you are ready to make a difference and be part of our caring and ambitious school family, we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

For further details and application forms, please visit the school website or contact the school office on 01925 636235.
