We’re supporting a fantastic special school in Gateshead that’s looking for a Pastoral Care Assistant to join their dedicated wellbeing team. The school is warm, welcoming, and full of staff who care deeply about giving every pupil the chance to feel secure, understood, and ready to learn.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Providing calm, one-to-one and small‑group pastoral support
• Helping pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive routines
• Working closely with the safeguarding, SEN, and behaviour teams
• Being a familiar, reassuring presence around school, from morning check‑ins to end‑of‑day reflections
• Helping create a safe, structured environment where every child feels seen and supported
