Job summary

New Harvest Community Church in the Sawley/Long Eaton area is seeking a Pastor to lead and serve a diverse congregation. The role is four days a week with a pro rata salary, dependent on experience.

The pastor will work with trustees and the national leader, and must be DBS-cleared with the right to work in the UK. The post requires strong relational skills, a heart for community transformation, and a willingness to align with the Free Methodist Church UK.

Qualifications

• Theologically trained with a commitment to evangelical Wesleyan-Arminian theology.
• Experience in church leadership or ministry, preferably in a team-oriented context.
• Ideally, experience of church planting.

Responsibilities

• Work with the leadership team to discern and implement God’s vision for the church and its community.
• Preach and teach biblically-sound, Spirit-led messages that communicate the gospel and inspire spiritual growth.
• Support the development and delivery of discipleship courses and small group content.
• Equip and disciple the congregation to live out their faith and reach others with the gospel.
• Develop and participate in outreach initiatives, such as Alpha or community events.
• Collaborate with the pastoral care team to ensure consistent support across the congregation.
• Build relationships and represent the church to schools, churches, and community organisations to serve the local area.
• Collaborate with trustees to ensure good charity governance and implement policies for safeguarding, finances, and operations.
• Mentor and support volunteers, ministry leaders and ministry trainees, empowering them to serve effectively.
• Assist in church administration, including planning meetings, reporting, ministry oversight and communications.
