Job summary

Balshaw Lane Primary invites applications for a part-time teaching assistant to support our Early Years classroom and pupils with additional needs. The TA works under the class teacher to maintain a calm, positive environment and to help children flourish.

First aid training is provided, with safeguarding and DBS checks as part of the process. The role runs 8:55am–3:20pm, five days a week during 38 weeks of term time, initially until 31st August 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with Early Years children.
• Experience with supporting children with additional needs (SEN) is advantageous.
• Able to speak and write in Standard English.

Responsibilities

• Support Early Years classroom teaching and organisation under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Help create a calm, happy learning environment where children flourish.
• Assist with daily classroom routines and medical/hygiene needs.
• Support children with SEN and any required first aid training.
