Job description
What is involved?

We are seeking a Passenger Transport Administration Assistant to join our Business Services team for an 18‑month temporary appointment based at Corton House, Durham. This role will assist the Passenger Transport Contracts team, providing vital administrative support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of transport services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work as part of the team responsible for the design, procurement, management, and monitoring of transport arrangements for school travel and social care.
  • Support Contracts Officers and senior managers, reporting breaches of contract, complaints, and safeguarding concerns for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Prepare documentation for procurement, including tender and contract documents, marketing material, and communications with operators, parents, and establishments.
  • Handle bookings and enquiries for Link 2, Access Bus, Health Service Journeys, and DRT schemes.
  • Maintain and update system databases, assist with data analysis, and ensure invoices are processed in line with procedures.

What will I need?

You will require BTEC ONC in Public Administration or NVQ2 Business Administration (or willingness to complete within 6 months). Strong communication skills, IT literacy, ability to prioritise tasks and experience in administration and working to deadlines.
