Join us on unforgettable journeys! We have a part time Passenger Assistant opportunity available working 16 hours per week. This is a term time only role.

Role Overview

Passenger Assistants provide a vital link for children with or without special educational needs, enabling them to attend education. You will be part of a friendly team that provides an excellent standard of service and support for children and young people eligible for transport.

Working Times and Arrangements

Working times are generally arranged around school start and finish times, but hours can vary depending on which route you are required to travel on. This could be in the local area or to a neighbouring authority. You will be picked up from your home by our driver and returned after each journey.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain caring, compassionate, and responsible relationships with children and young people, their parents and carers.
  • Show patience, understanding and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds.
  • Ensure every journey is a positive, enjoyable experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for children, young adults and families.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Specialist knowledge of working directly with children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid would be advantageous.
  • Must live within North East Lincolnshire or be able to make your own way to an agreed pick‑up point within 15 minutes travel from the route.
  • Must have a professional/company email address (personal email addresses are not accepted).
  • References covering the last 3 years are required; at least one reference must be from current or most recent employment or placement.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required and register with DBS Update Service within 30 calendar days.
