A well-known motorsport company at Bedford Autodrome is seeking a full-time Parts Assistant. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, managing parts for the GB3/4 championships, and assisting during race weekends. Candidates should have a full UK driving licence and knowledge of car components, with the ability to work under their own initiative. Qualifications

• Must complete HGV 1 licence after probation period.
• Able to attend and work throughout race weekends.
• Ability to complete HGV 1 licence after probation period.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Willingness to work under own initiative in a fast paced environment.
• CPC licence would be an advantage but is not essential and must be undertaken after probation.

Responsibilities

• Keep the warehouse stocked with components for GB3 & GB4 championships.
• Pick and pack orders ready for upcoming race weekends.
• Liaise with race teams to provide additional parts during race weekends.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment in stores.
• Load/unload GB3/GB4 parts trucks between events.
• Keep Bedford stores clean and safe for all staff.
• Help set up and pack down trucks and awnings at events.
• Log deliveries and stock levels on a stock management system.
• Coordinate with workshop to pick and compile parts quickly and efficiently.

Skills

Knowledge of car components (ideally single seaters)

Ability to work under your own initiative

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Education

GB3 / 4, The UK’s leading single seater championship are seeking a full time Parts Assistant to join the team at Bedford Autodrome.

This is a fantastic opportunity to familiarise and start your career within a race paddock environment. Throughout the week you will be based at our Bedford Autodrome / PalmerSport facility assisting with parts for the GB3/4 teams. Then working race weekends for the GB3/4 championship travelling to race events to assist with the stores truck operations.

Job duties will involve:

• Working as part of the stores team to keep the warehouse stocked with components for the GB3 & GB4 championships
• Picking and pack orders ready for upcoming race weekends and events
• Liaising with race teams providing them with required additional parts throughout a race weekend
• Working within strict timeframes to ensure all teams requirements are fulfilled
• Loading / unloading the GB3 / 4 parts trucks in between events.
• Keeping the stores at Bedford a clean and safe environment to work for all members of staff
• Helping to set up and pack down truck and awning(s) at race events
• Logging deliveries / stock levels on a stock management system
• Working with the workshop team to accurately pick and compile parts quickly and efficiently

Next season GB3 will travel to Spa Francorchamps (30/31st of May), Hungaroring (4/5th July) and Red Bull Ring (11/12th July) and Circuit de Barcelona (7/8th November) in four exciting European race weekends. This does however mean that you will need to be able to travel freely in and out of the UK.

Core working hours are 42.5 hours Monday to Friday + race weekends but hours are ultimately driven by business needs. The list of required race weekends can be foundhere , however flexibility will be required on weekend availability through the whole of the race season (typically March to October).
