Job description

Join Scottish Friendly and play a central role in managing our partnerships. As a Partnership Relationship Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising key strategic relationships to deliver long term value for both our partners and customers.

In this role, you'll work collaboratively to optimise the existing propositions for our protection partners and customers. You'll also be responsible for coordinating any new development opportunities with existing protection partners and identifying development opportunities with new savings and investment partners, primarily focusing on our ISA and Junior ISA products.

Working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Customer Services, Outsourcing, Compliance and Risk, as well as with external partners, you'll help shape relationships and initiatives that support business development.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and nurture key partner relationships
  • Act as the primary day to day contact for distribution and reinsurance relationships for our protection partners.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships based on transparency, expertise, and great communication.
  • Provide partners with the insight, information, and support they need to deliver excellent propositions and service to customers.
Drive delivery and performance
  • Plan and manage partner related projects from idea to implementation with support from key stakeholders across the business.
  • Monitor partner performance, track key metrics, and present actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Review partnership literature and communications to ensure its accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot challenges, prioritise effectively, and ensure partners receive timely, high-quality support.
Shape new commercial opportunities
  • Identify, evaluate, and engage potential new distribution partners for savings and investments (primarily our ISA and Junior ISA products).
  • Support due diligence, contracts, product journeys, and operational setup for new products and propositions.
Manage change and governance
  • Coordinate and lead partner relationship meetings, internal reporting cycles and regulatory reporting turns.
  • Ensure all activity delivers against Consumer Duty expectations and contributes to strong customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate ad hoc and periodic legal agreement and treaty changes, with support from Legal partners and other internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong relationship management experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and stakeholder facing.

  • Strong organisational and project management capability.
  • Analytical skills and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work across multiple priorities in a fastmoving environment.
  • A collaborative, positive approach with willingness to travel for partner meetings when required.
