Job summary

IDEX Consulting is assisting a leading UK law firm in Leeds to appoint a Partner within Financial & Executive Lines. The role focuses on D&O, PI, financial institutions, surety and related classes, advising insurers and insureds on coverage, complex claims and disputes.

The appointed partner should bring an established, portable practice with strong client relationships and market visibility to grow the practice on a broader platform, leveraging the firm's corporate and regulatory disputes

Qualifications

• Established, portable financial lines practice with £500,000–£750,000 revenue
• Partner or Legal Director level with market visibility
• Ability to lead across financial & executive lines including coverage, disputes and regulatory matters

Responsibilities

• Advise insurers and insureds on coverage, complex claims and disputes
• Support regulatory investigations and enforcement actions as part of the practice lead
• Develop and grow a broader platform leveraging the firm’s corporate, regulatory and disputes capability

Job description

Our client is a full-service UK law firm with a long-established and highly regarded commercial and specialty insurance practice, acting for a recognised roster of insurers, MGAs, brokers and corporate policyholders across the London market and the wider UK. The practice is genuinely insurance-led rather than a general disputes offering with an insurance label attached, and is well resourced beneath partner level. As part of continued investment in their financial lines capability, they are looking to appoint a Partner within Financial & Executive Lines.

The remit covers D&O, professional indemnity, financial institutions, surety, trade credit, political risk and related classes - advising insurers and insureds on coverage, complex claims and disputes, alongside the regulatory investigations and enforcement action that increasingly drive them. It is a broad brief by design, and the firm is realistic that no single partner covers all of it; the appetite is for depth in some of it and the credibility to lead across the rest.

We are keen to speak with partners with an established, portable practice of approximately £500,000 to £750,000, currently operating at Partner or Legal Director level in a firm with a recognised financial lines offering, with the client relationships and market visibility to bring a practice across and grow it on a broader platform.

The wider firm's corporate, regulatory and commercial disputes capability is a genuine asset in this space, where the coverage question is rarely the only conversation the client is having - and where the ability to service the whole of it tends to decide who keeps the relationship
