Job summary

The Guildford Vet Limited is looking for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our independent small animal practice in Guildford. You will provide clinical care and contribute to surgical cases within a happy, supportive team.

Working pattern includes 3 days per week, 8am–4pm, one on‑call night, and a 1 in 4 weekend rota with a half‑day off the following week. Benefits include holiday, CPD, pension, private health insurance, VDS, and RCVS fees paid.

Part‑Time Veterinary Surgeon

£50,000 – £80,000 FTE, paid pro rata depending on experience

We're an independent small animal practice with a personal approach, getting to know our clients and their pets. We believe great veterinary care starts with a happy, supported team. With low staff turnover and an experienced team of 3.5 Vets, 5 RVNs, 2 VCAs and 5 Receptionists, you'll be part of a close‑knit practice where your contribution matters.

Facilities

We're fully equipped with digital X-ray, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, a dental machine, in‑house lab machines and more.

In‑house out of hours

We're proud to provide our own out-of-hours care rather than outsourcing it. This gives our patients continuity, means you can see your cases through, and is one of the things that makes our practice special.

What we're looking for

A caring, enthusiastic Vet who is confident in surgery, enjoys teamwork, and wants to build lasting relationships with clients and patients while delivering high standards of care.

Working pattern

• 3 days per week, 8am – 4pm
• 1 night per week on call
• 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday: 8:30am – 4:30pm; Sunday: 9:30am – 12:30pm, plus on call that weekend)
• Half a day off the following working week after your on‑call weekend
