A supportive educational institution in the United Kingdom seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to help students engage with their learning and emotional well-being. In this dynamic role, you will support classroom activities, work closely with teachers, and create a nurturing environment for students. The ideal candidate will bring kindness, patience, and strong communication skills, while benefiting from training and professional development opportunities. This rewarding position allows you to make a real difference in young people's lives.
Do you love the idea of helping young people discover what they’re capable of? Are you someone who can bring calm, kindness and a well‑timed smile to a busy school day?
As a Teaching Assistant at The Wymering School, you’ll help students engage with their learning, support their emotional well‑being and build their confidence in school. You’ll be a key part of the classroom team and a steady presence during those inevitable ups and downs (because let’s face it, the classroom can be an emotional rollercoaster).
You’ll be the glue that holds things together – the calm in the storm – helping our students navigate their day without it ever feeling too overwhelming. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
The Wymering School, part of the Southern Education Trust, is passionate about “making lives better” by creating an environment where every child, regardless of their challenges, can shine.
We specialise in supporting young people with Social Communication and Interaction difficulties, associated Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties and high level of anxiety and/or associated distressed behaviour.
If you’re ready for a role where patience, care, and encouragement make a real difference – helping young people grow, celebrate their successes, and shine in their own unique way – then we’d love to hear from you.
Become part of our journey by completing our Support Staff Application Form and returning it to recruitment@southern.education if you would like to apply. See our Teaching Assistant Job Description for further details on the role and our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
