Job summary

The Southfield Trust in Eastbourne is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support teachers and engage with SEN pupils across six sites. The role is term-time only with a 30-hour week and a one-year fixed term contract. Salary is £17,943 (pro rata to 25,614 FTE).

You will assist in lessons, support individual students, monitor progress and help manage classroom resources. DBS clearance and safeguarding checks are part of pre-employment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Passion for education and well-being of children.

Responsibilities

• As a Teaching Assistant, assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons.
•  
• Provide support to individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete tasks.
•  
• Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

• Monitor and record student progress.
•  
• Assist with management of classroom resources and setup.
•  
• Provide personal care.
•  
• May be required to work at any of six sites.
