Havant & South Downs College is seeking a compassionate Student Progress Mentor to support students to overcome barriers to learning, improve attendance and engagement, and progress toward their goals. You will manage a caseload, provide one-to-one guidance, and coordinate targeted interventions in collaboration with teaching staff and external support services.

The role requires excellent communication, organisational skills, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Qualifications

• English and maths to level 2 or above are required.
• Safeguarding Lead qualification or willingness to obtain.
• One of the specified youth-related qualifications is required.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Understanding of barriers to learning and mental health in students.
• Experience liaising with external support services is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Develop skills of disengaging students and coordinate support plans with tutors.
• Maintain caseloads and create records of cases and outcomes for monitoring.
• Deliver triage services and signpost to internal and external support.
• Organise targeted interventions and liaise with parents/carers as appropriate.
• Collaborate with staff to support students inside and outside the classroom.
• Identify trends in student progress and address them with targeted interventions.
