Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a part-time Sterilisation Technician for the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. You will decontaminate and sterilise surgical instruments and prepare sterile packs for Endoscopy and the NHS Trust.

Training will be offered to the right candidate, with a 30-hour week (Mon-Fri, 14:00-20:00). The role requires NVQ 3 Decontamination or equivalent, knowledge of decontamination processes, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 Decontamination or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of all decontamination processes in the hospital sterile services department.
• Sterile Services or hospital experience.
• Good communication skills verbal and written.
• To work under pressure and as part of a team or alone.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instruments and Endoscopes.
• Provide sterile procedure packs to Endoscopy and the NHS Trust.
• Work as part of a team to ensure efficient decontamination and distribution of reusable instruments.
