Job summary

Philosophy Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 at a bilingual primary school in Wandsworth. The role is mornings only (8:30-12:30) with an ASAP start and an ongoing contract to July 2027.

You will work 1:1 with a pupil with SEND within the classroom, stepping in during dysregulation and providing some non-classroom support as needed. Experience in SEND and KS1 is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a child with SEND in a classroom setting.
• Able to provide 1:1 support and de-escalation when child dysregulates.
• Previous KS1 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 3 pupil with SEND in class and 1:1.
• Provide occasional non-classroom support during regulation.
• Assist with bilingual school activities when needed.

We are currently looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3, mornings only, at a lovely Bi-lingual primary school in Wandsworth.

The Role

The school are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work within Year 3 supporting a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis. You will be based within the classroom, but will be required to provide some non class support as and when the child becomes dysregulated.

The school are looking for someone with previous experience supporting young people with SEND, ideally within a classroom environment. This role is to start ASAP, mornings only from 8.30-12.30, and is expected to continue for the rest of the academic year.

The School

This community-focused primary school opened in 2020 and offers a bilingual education, combining the National Curriculum with Portuguese language instruction provided by specialists. The school is growing steadily, currently catering to pupils from Reception to Year 5.
