Job summary

Academics Ltd are recruiting a School Kitchen Assistant for Gravesend. This part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 10:00am-2:00pm, with ASAP start, delivering school catering duties in a welcoming environment.

You will assist with meal prep and service, support the kitchen team, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and help with stock and deliveries. Enhanced DBS is required or willing to obtain one; pay starts at £14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or similar environment.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS suitable for working in a school, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general kitchen duties.
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas and equipment.
• Washing up and ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic.
• Assisting with stock and deliveries when required.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Helping to provide a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff.
