Job summary

Susan Hamilton in Mill Hill, North London, is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for a school kitchen. Part-time hours are 10:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (40.4 weeks per year). The role supports the catering team and provides regular, predictable hours in a friendly environment.

The successful candidate will assist with food prep, serving during lunchtimes, setting up/clearing, and maintaining a clean kitchen under hygiene and safety guidelines. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Friendly, reliable and hardworking.
• Comfortable working as part of a small team.
• Good standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help.
• DBS check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Serving students and customers during lunchtime service.
• Assisting the chef with basic food preparation.
• Setting up and clearing down areas.
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
• General cleaning duties in kitchen and dining areas.
• Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Supporting the wider catering team as required.
