Job summary

EQUA Mead Learning Trust is seeking a dynamic School Counsellor to join The Harbour Programme on the site of Castle Mead School in Trowbridge. The post supports primary-aged pupils with emotional and SEMH needs, delivering a confidential 1:1 counselling service and may involve group work.

The role is part-time, 5 hours per week, delivered within the school day, and is on a long-term, term-time-only contract. A DBS check is required, and there is potential for flexible hours within the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering counselling services to children is preferred.
• Awareness of SEMH needs and safeguarding guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality counselling service to primary-aged children with emotional issues.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of pupils.
• Offer 1:1 counselling and may conduct therapeutic group work.
• Communicate effectively with staff and external agencies to ensure pupil support.
