Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking a Catering Supervisor to manage catering and service operations on a part-time basis (25 hours/week; 43.8 weeks/year). The role focuses on delivering exceptional food experiences, supervising teams, and upholding safety standards to protect pupils and staff across education settings.

You will oversee kitchen and counter operations, drive KPIs with your line manager, and represent the Chartwells brand with pride.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years catering experience.
• Experience managing teams in a similar role.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious food to the highest standards.
• Supervising culinary and catering teams to deliver impeccable food and customer service.
• Communicating with line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Liaising between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Supporting and training teams and leading from the front.
• Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards across all catering and service teams.
