Job summary

inspiring vet care, Avon Lodge Veterinary Centre on Wells Road, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse for a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. You will join a welcoming team delivering high standards of nursing care and supporting surgical procedures in a well-equipped practice.

The role emphasizes nurse clinics, preventative care, and patient welfare within a supportive, training-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
• Run nurse clinics and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education.
• Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery.
