A local government authority in Bracknell is seeking a part-time Registrar to join their Registration Service Team. The role requires delivering high-quality customer service, conducting ceremonies, and supporting the registration team. Candidates should have excellent communication and organisational skills. Additional hours may be available for ceremonies on weekends, with competitive benefits including annual leave and a supportive work environment.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registrar on a part-time, permanent basis for 22.5 hours per week to join our Registration Service Team. At Bracknell Forest Council we pride ourselves on being a stable and well‑managed council where employees can thrive in a supportive environment. This role is predominantly office based and offers a healthy work‑life balance.
As a Registrar you will undertake a wide range of duties to support the smooth running of the department and provide cover for colleagues when needed. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering a high‑quality, customer‑focused frontline service – whether by phone, email, or in person. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is vital in your day‑to‑day responsibilities. You will be a team player with strong collaborative and organisational skills, confident using IT systems, and capable of recording information accurately while identifying and questioning any anomalies.
There will also be opportunities to work additional hours on weekends on a rota basis to conduct a variety of ceremonies. Additional payments will be made for these duties.
We are a small, vibrant and forward‑thinking team that provides both statutory and non‑statutory registration services. We are based primarily at Time Square, but travel to all licensed venues within Bracknell Forest to conduct ceremonies.
