Job summary

Valpak Limited is seeking a data-focused Advisor to gather and process packaging, WEEE and batteries data from suppliers. You will work with various teams to ensure accurate submissions, communicate requirements, and maintain data quality.

You will need strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and professional communication to interact with clients and suppliers, while supporting regulatory compliance and data integrity.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with suppliers to collect packaging weights information for regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate with Data Administrators, Account Managers and Data Team Managers to communicate calculation requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers via email, phone and live chat; conduct site visits for weighing exercises.
  • Produce written communication with clients and suppliers.
  • Provide telephone support to clients and suppliers.
  • Data cleansing and maintenance using in-house software and MS Excel.
  • Collect packaging, WEEE and batteries data from supplier contacts.
  • Support in calculations of waste submissions under packaging, WEEE and Batteries rules.

You will assist in driving this goal by collecting and manipulating large volumes of data, which we use to keep our customers compliant. You will collect and process data relating to our clients’ obligations under the Packaging, WEEE and Batteries regulations.

Requirements
What will I be doing?

The Advisors will liaise with suppliers, assisting them with their data submissions relating to our clients’ obligations under the Packaging, WEEE and Batteries regulations. The Advisor will work alongside Data Administrators, Account Managers and Data Team Managers to effectively communicate requirements for obligations calculations for a range of accounts.

The Advisors will liaise with suppliers of Data Insights’ customers to collect information by email, telephone, and live chat, as well as demonstrations and visit client sites to undertake weighing exercises. They will also interact with other departments within Valpak, as well as external organisations, and will therefore need excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

  • To produce written communication with clients and suppliers through emails and letters
  • To provide telephone support to clients and suppliers when collecting packaging weights information

Data cleansing and maintenance

  • To use in-house computer software to process packaging evidence information
  • To use MS Excel and CRM applications to check and improve accuracy of data within supplier database

Collection of packaging, WEEE and batteries data

  • To contact the suppliers of Data Insights’ clients to gain weights information by email

Understanding of the packaging, WEEE, and batteries regulations

  • To receive in-house training on the packaging, WEEE and batteries regulations
  • To provide support to the Account Managers in the calculation of the packaging, WEEE and Batteries waste submissions
  • To work within the guidelines of Valpak’s ISO accreditation and Risk Management Policies
  • To adhere to all of Valpak’s Health and Safety Policies
About you

You will be task driven and confident working with MS Excel (experience of analysing and manipulating large volumes of data is desirable) experience gained during education or employment. In addition, you will also have:

  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, comfortable using email and telephone
  • High level of professionalism
  • An interest is environmental issues is desirable
  • Have a full, driving licence (or working towards) to enable you to travel to customer sites
  • Provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients and clients’ suppliers
  • Develop a good understanding of Data Insights’ services and processes
  • Provide a high standard of accuracy in collection and management of data
  • Minimum: Educated to at least A level standard or equivalent
  • Desirable: Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
