Job description

Part-Time Private Chef / Family Cook Job, Chelsea, London

Location: Chelsea, London

Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 3–7 pm

Rate: £35 per hour, self-employed

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic cook or private chef to join a family in Chelsea twice a week. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cooking, confident working with excellent ingredients and happy to take ownership of the family's kitchen routine.

The main focus of the role is preparing delicious, home-cooked meals for a seven-year-old boy who has particular preferences around taste and texture. He enjoys dishes such as chicken Milanese, pizza, chicken nuggets and Bolognese, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in making exceptional versions of these familiar favourites from scratch.

The aim is to build his confidence around food and gradually introduce new dishes and flavours in a relaxed, pressure-free way. He gives very specific feedback, so patience, flexibility and a genuine willingness to adapt recipes are essential. His mother is happy to eat lighter or more adult variations of the same meals.

Beyond cooking, the role involves menu planning, shopping for high-quality ingredients, preparing meals for the following evening, cleaning up after cooking and keeping the fridge clean, fresh and organised. We would love to find someone who is proactive, organised and enjoys taking responsibility for the entire kitchen routine.

The ideal candidate will have excellent culinary skills, a genuine love of food and ideally some experience cooking for families with children. Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of perfecting simple dishes, pays close attention to detail and brings patience, creativity and enthusiasm to the kitchen.

This is a self-employed position offering 8 hours per week at £35 per hour, based in Chelsea
