Job description

We are looking to recruit a part-time Phlebotomist with great people skills to join our friendly team.

We are looking for a team player who will thrive in a busy, high‑pressure environment, be reliable, and have a caring and compassionate approach to patient care.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP or nurse practitioner.

About us

The Manor Group is looking to employ a part‑time Phlebotomist for the Manor Surgery site, which is located near the John Radcliffe Hospital. We are a purpose‑built building with modern facilities and well‑equipped treatment rooms. We are a training practice and have a culture of learning with an excellent reputation for the level of teaching we provide. The surgery is readily accessible by public transport with local bus routes.

Job responsibilities

Hours: Ideally 4‑7.30pm, Monday‑Thursday (14 hrs per week)

Salary: Starting salary of £13.16 per hour, in line with the Oxford Living Wage

This is a part‑time role with the ability to cover for extra shifts (planned absences and to cover at short notice) when necessary. It is based at our Manor Surgery site in Headington.

We welcome applications from both fully trained phlebotomists and individuals with no experience in phlebotomy who are eager to be trained into this role and who can clearly demonstrate the right attitude and values.
