Job summary

London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) is hiring a part-time Nursery Chef Assistant for a fixed Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm role in Southwark (SE5). You will work in a warm, child-focused kitchen, supporting the nursery chef to prepare nutritious meals for children and ensure safe food practices.

In-house Chef Academy training is provided; benefits include a generous pension, salary uplift upon completing the Chef Academy, and substantial childcare fee discounts.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and excited to work with children
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or equivalent, or willingness to complete the course (paid for by LEYF)
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Help the nursery chef prepare nutritious meals for children
• Assist in managing kitchen and suppliers to ensure a healthy environment
• Participate in the LEYF Chef Academy training and engage with the wider chef community
