Morning Nursery Lead / Nursery Assistant

Location: Rochester (Primary School)

Start Date: February 2026 - July 2026

Hours: 8:30am - 12:00pm, Monday-Friday

Salary: £15 per hour

Contract: Part-Time, Fixed Term

Overview

Their Nursery provision is well-supported, structured and nurturing, with a child-led, play-based approach.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Supporting the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of morning sessions (or leading elements of sessions if appointed as a Lead)
  • Providing nurturing, responsive support to children aged 3-4, including those with SEND needs
  • Observing children's development and contributing to progress notes and assessments
  • Encouraging social interaction, communication, independence and early learning skills
  • Creating a calm, safe and stimulating environment that reflects the children's interests
  • Supporting personal care routines where necessary
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and other support staff
  • Communicating positively with parents and carers when required
  • Ensuring safeguarding and school policies are consistently followed
Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working in an Early Years or Nursery setting
  • A caring, patient and nurturing personality
  • Strong understanding of EYFS development and early learning
  • Confidence supporting children 1:1 and in small groups
  • Experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Good communication and behaviour management skills
