Part-Time Nanny Leigh-on-Sea, Essex

Location: Leigh-on-Sea, SS9

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: £17 gross per hour depending on experience

Contract: part-time

Hours: Thursdays 11:00am to 6:30pm (occasionally from 9:30am or until 9:00pm, with advance notice)

Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency are seeking a nurturing and confident nanny to provide part-time care for two happy, imaginative girls aged 3 and 6 (nearly 7) in Leigh-on-Sea.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nanny who enjoys planning fun, creative, and engaging activities in a relaxed, child-led environment. The family value outdoor play, imaginative games, and a warm, kind approach to childcare.

Role Overview
  • Sole care of the youngest child during the day until school pick-up
  • School pick-up for the eldest child (less than a 10-minute walk)
  • Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, imaginative role play (e.g. den building, playing hotels)
  • Preparing simple, nutritious evening meals (pasta, freezer meals with salad / veg)
  • Supporting light homework or reading / spelling activities when needed (no tutoring required)
  • Occasionally escorting the children to local classes or events (on foot)
  • Evening routine when needed, including bath time and settling the children for bed on later finishes
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years professional nanny or childcare experience
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to obtain via Happy Nest)
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete through Happy Nest)
  • Excellent references from recent childcare roles
  • Warm, proactive and reliable
  • Strong communicator who can work independently and with confidence
About the Family

The family have a friendly, relaxed home with a regular cleaner. Both parents work in media-related roles, one working from home most days. The children love drawing, scooting, board games, and getting creative in the garden.

This role would suit a nanny who enjoys imaginative play, is happy to be flexible with hours on occasion, and can form a strong bond with the children as a trusted and consistent presence in their lives.
