Job summary

Colchester Institute invites applications for a Lecturer - Course Leader in Media to guide academic and operational delivery across designated programmes in Further and Higher Education, while performing core teaching, assessment and curriculum development duties.

You will provide academic leadership, ensure inclusive teaching, monitor student progress, and shape curriculum development to stay aligned with industry standards. The role is part-time (29.6 hours/week) at Colchester Campus.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience in a further/hurther education setting
• Experience of working with young people
• Proven leadership experience including team management and motivation
• Experience delivering Media-related subjects
• Experience of managing and motivating young learners (Secondary/16-19)
• Ability to teach topics such as Content Creation, Film and TV, Graphic Design, Photography, AI

Responsibilities

• Oversee the whole study programme, including academic quality and course administration
• Monitor standards against awarding organisation guidelines and raise achievement
• Collaborate with area leadership to ensure quality assurance and external verification
• Lead curriculum development with emphasis on technology-enhanced learning
• Deliver comprehensive teaching, design schemes of work, assess and tutor students
• Develop curriculum materials aligned with programme specs and QA frameworks
• Deliver engaging teaching using varied pedagogical approaches for diverse learners
