Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting are partnering with a rapidly growing SME in Newton Abbot to recruit a Part Time Management Accountant / Finance Manager. The role focuses on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic support during a period of expansion.

You will take ownership of financial insight, partnering with directors to shape pricing decisions and drive better decision making through robust financial models and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or qualified by experience with strong management accounting capability.
• Solid forecasting and budgeting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and commercially minded approach to interpreting financial data.
• Experience in SME or high growth environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Develop KPI reporting and monitor margins, cashflow and working capital.
• Lead budgeting and rolling forecasting aligned to growth plans.
• Support scenario modelling, investment decisions and cost analysis.
• Partner with directors on strategic planning and pricing decisions.
• Build financial models to support business expansion.
• Strengthen reporting processes, controls and system scalability.
• Liaise with external accountants on statutory matters.

This is a brand new role created to strengthen financial insight and support strategic decision making during an exciting period of expansion.

The business has experienced significant recent growth and is now entering a new phase of scale and operational development. With transactional finance currently managed in house and supported externally for statutory matters, the organisation is now seeking a commercially focused finance professional to take ownership of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a growing business and wants to play a key part in improving financial visibility and decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary
