Job Summary

This part‑time Maintenance Technician role at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington offers the opportunity to join a dedicated team and play a key part in ensuring the facility is well‑presented and safe. With a focus on maintenance tasks, you will liaise with contractors, conduct audits, and perform a range of responsibilities to support the upkeep of the service. Main Duties

As a part‑time Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair faults. You will work 22.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8 am until 4 pm, working alongside an established team and turning your hand to all maintenance‑related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Participating in a 1‑week retaining on‑call rota for emergency maintenance
  • Ensuring a high standard of maintenance in all areas
  • Adhering to health and safety and operational policies and procedures
  • Supporting the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Following good health and safety practices
  • Co‑ordinating and supporting contractors on site
  • Ensuring completion of contractor paperwork and tool checks on entry/exit of the site
  • Completing individual tool checks in line with local procedures
  • Escorting contractors on site and complying with security requirements
  • Completing maintenance requests which may involve repairing/replacing items within the general building trade
  • Working as part of a team and independently when required
  • Reviewing daily work sheets, prioritising tasks and completing them as directed
  • Performing maintenance security checks
  • Maintaining internal and external gardens
