A leading employment agency in the UK is seeking a proactive Legal Secretary to provide administrative support specializing in family and employment law. The ideal candidate should have strong legal secretarial experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage client interactions efficiently. Legal Secretary Family, Employment & Litigation
Location: Milton Keynes MK11
Hours: Part-time hours 3 days a week - could be school hours for the right candidate
Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP30,000 will be pro rata d to part time

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Secretary to provide dedicated administrative and secretarial support to a law firm and team specialising in family and employment law. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal secretarial experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys varied, meaningful work.

Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation
  • Typing and drafting legal documents including contracts, agreements, witness statements, court forms, and court bundles
  • Audio typing (essential)
  • Completing routine AML checks and preparing relevant documentation
Administrative Support
  • Managing diaries and scheduling appointments via Outlook
  • Answering calls and handling general correspondence
  • Using the court portal to upload and monitor divorce and employment matters
  • Costing files and preparing invoices
Client Interaction
  • Liaising with clients in person, by phone, and via email
  • Providing updates and managing enquiries professionally and efficiently
Case Management
  • Organising and maintaining client files
  • Updating case management systems
  • Preparing and collating bundles for court
Office Duties
  • Photocopying, scanning, filing
  • Opening and closing files
Court & Litigation Support
  • Assisting with case preparation
  • Liaising with court staff and barristers clerks
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (especially Word), Outlook, Excel, and legal case management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Professionalism and discretion with confidential information
