Job summary

Jah-Jireh Charity Homes is seeking a part-time laundry assistant to provide clean, well-laundered clothing to residents. You will work on site in Leyland, coordinating with care staff to ensure items are returned to the correct resident and that infection control protocols are followed.

The role requires reliable attendance and the ability to manage laundry supplies and equipment, while maintaining high standards and supporting residents with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Provide laundry services in line with standards, regulations and best practices.
• Liaise with care staff and service users politely and in a person-centred way.
• Ensure clothing is clean, laundered and returned to the correct user promptly.
• Use infection control systems appropriately.
• Manage laundry requirements and ensure sufficient items are available for use.
• Maintain adequate and effective equipment to facilitate laundering.

Responsibilities

• To provide laundry services within the service in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations.
• Liaise with care staff and service users in a polite and person-centred way.
• To ensure that service users’ clothing is clean, appropriately laundered and returned to the right service user in a timely manner.
• Infection control systems are appropriately used.
• To ensure that the laundry requirements of the service are managed appropriately and that there are always sufficient items available for use.
• Ensure that there is sufficient and effective equipment to facilitate the laundering of all items.
