Job summary

A recruitment partner to the environmental testing sector is seeking a Part-time Laboratory Technician in Broughton in Furness. This permanent role offers 17.5 hours per week with responsibilities including analyzing water samples and providing training to junior staff.   • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested.

This is a permanent part‑time opportunity paying negotiable salary with added benefits. Total working hours per week is 17.5 hours. Shift pattern – 4 on 4 off. Maximum 5 hours per day.

  • Analysing water samples using analytical techniques such as GC‑MS, GC‑QQQ, LC‑QQQ and LC‑MS.
  • Receiving samples and logging them.
  • Analysis and investigation of results.
  • Provide training to junior staff members.
  • Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Work according to ISO17025 guidelines.
  • To undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility requested by a senior manager.
Qualifications
  • Degree in chemistry or equivalent.
  • Full training will be provided so it's not essential to have prior laboratory experience but it's highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
