Job summary

Wallingford Not-for-Profit Company is seeking a part-time HR Manager to lead HR across the group, ensuring compliance with employment law and robust HR policies. The role offers 3 days per week with one remote day and Wednesday in the office, a salary of £45k pro rata (£27k full-time equivalent), life assurance and company pension, and 27 days plus bank holidays.

You will coach managers, drive development, support recruitment, and provide strategic HR insight to the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading HR matters and applying employment legislation to real-life situations.
• CIPD qualified level 5-7 (Level 7 desirable)
• Strong leadership and communication skills—comfortable presenting to groups and at board level.
• Problem-solver mindset with methodical, practical approach.
• Confidentiality and discretion in conflict situations.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general IT.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR matters across the group, policies, procedures and employment documentation.
• Coach and mentor line managers on performance, grievances and disciplinary matters.
• Drive training, development priorities and practical learning plans.
• Support recruitment and retention across the organisation.
• Own workforce planning, succession, and organisational development.
• Champion employee engagement, wellbeing and culture as an employer of choice.
• Oversee employer accreditation achievements and ongoing maintenance.
• Provide strategic HR insights to the Executive Leadership Team.
