Getat Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support residents at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington. You will deliver compassionate physical and emotional care to help individuals lead a valued life and follow their recovery pathway.

Responsibilities include ward rounds, observing behaviours, updating records, and assisting with personal hygiene, within a collaborative, resilient team on a rotating schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health or care settings preferred.
• Ability to provide emotional and physical support to residents.
• Excellent communication and observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to residents with a range of Mental Health needs.
• Conduct ward rounds and monitor residents' wellbeing and behaviours.
• Update patient records accurately and maintain care plans.
• Assist with personal hygiene and daily activities as required.

Working Hours:

20 Hours per week, 7:30am -8pm 7:30pm to 8am - day/night monthly rotation

What you will be doing:

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.The shift pattern is 12.5 (Including a 1 hour break) hour days, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends, 40.25 hours per week.

Where you will be working:

You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with Mental Health needs.There are 6 wards for people with Mental Health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with Mental Health issues.
