Position: Part Time Health & Wellbeing Caseworker
Location: Dungannon (Open to negotiation)
Duration: Funded until May 2028
Pay Rate: £33,143 per annum (Pro Rata)
Hours of work: 22 hours per week
The Health & Wellbeing Caseworker will work directly with individual Victims and Survivors and their families in a pro‑active and innovative way to facilitate targeted engagement with services and activities within the statutory, community and voluntary sector in keeping with their needs.
Duties will include:
- Ensure an innovative and pro‑active approach to targeting the most vulnerable and marginalised individuals.
- Ensure responsiveness and choice and mitigate against duplication of services.
- Have extensive knowledge of services available to Victims and Survivors and their families.
- Be prepared to challenge any barriers to Victims and Survivors accessing the care and support they need.
- Accompany individuals to services/ appointments/ activities to help them overcome issues such as low confidence, low motivation and diminished trust that have left them isolated and marginalised.
- Facilitate and co‑ordinate personalised funding for individuals to avail of the Resilience Programme e.g. One to one Literacy tutoring or a physical activity of choice.
- Introduce victims and survivors to shared spaces and services.
- Ensure the process for the referred individual, referrer and assessors is seamless.
- Monitor, evaluate and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment plan.
- Contribute to the auditing and monitoring and evaluation process for VSS.
- Manage the security/processing of confidential client information against the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
- Report any concerns/issues encountered to RFJ/VSS Management.
- Promote a culture of continuous service improvement amongst staff, encouraging their participation and that of service users in reviewing and modernising current services and in service development.
- Be the first point of contact for enquiries, liaising with other agencies in a professional manner, ensuring that complex and sensitive information is communicated with empathy and reassurance.
- Assisting with planning and arranging appointments with clients.
- Provide information and support to clients as appropriate.
- Provide assistance and act as a resource for VSP and PEACEPLUS funded services.
Essential Criteria:
- Possess a University Degree or Professional Qualification or equivalent Third Level qualification in a relevant area.
OR
- Possess 2 A Level passes AND have 2 year's paid experience equivalent to 16 hours per week in a community/ voluntary/ statutory environment working with individuals bereaved and/or injured by conflict.
OR
- 4 years voluntary/ paid experience equivalent to 16 hours per week in a community/ voluntary/ statutory environment working with individuals bereaved and/or injured by conflict.
AND
- Demonstrate an interest in and awareness of the issues facing individuals who have been affected physically or psychologically by the conflict.
- Demonstrate an ability to successfully participate in further training relating to this area of work.
- Demonstrate experience of liaising with clients, building relationships and of being using a creative and innovative approach to problem -solving.
- Demonstrate experience of liaising between clients and a broad range of service providers.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos and core values of Relatives for Justice.
- Hold a full license with access to a car. These criteria will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to make alternative
