Job summary

Birkenhead Sixth Form College invites applications for a highly effective Head of Performing Arts on a part-time (0.5) fixed-term contract from 4 January 2027 to 31 March 2028. You will teach and oversee the Performing Arts BTEC, currently serving around 20 students, covering units such as Investigating Practitioners’ Work and Developing Skills for Live Performance.

You would be the sole teacher within Performing Arts, working closely with the Dance, Drama and Digital Music teams to plan,

Qualifications

• Strong vision for Performing Arts at post-16
• Ability to inspire students practically and academically
• Experience delivering BTEC Performing Arts preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Performing Arts BTEC delivery
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons and assessments
• Coordinate with Dance, Drama and Digital Music teams
