Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller in London (City) to provide strategic financial leadership for a growing commodities business. You will report to the CEO and advise the executive team on all financial matters.

Role includes budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounting, and working capital optimisation with a hybrid 2–3 day schedule. Competitive salary plus bonus and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a senior finance role within financial services or investment management.
• Experience in entrepreneurial/fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to CEO and board.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, IFRS/UK GAAP compliance.
• Lead cash flow management and working capital optimisation; liaise with banks and trade finance.
• Drive process improvements and implement ERP/financial systems as the business grows.

Our client is seeking an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to provide strategic financial leadership to a growing commodities business in London (City area).

Client Details

Growing Commodities trading business based in the City of London.

Description

• Reporting to the CEO, you will provide financial leadership and act as a key advisor to the executive team and board on all financial matters:
• Oversee core finance functions: budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, statutory accounting, and compliance.
• Lead ash flow management, working capital optimisation, relationships with banks & trade finance
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS / UK GAAP)
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel on audits, tax planning, and corporate finance matters.
• Drive process improvements, implement or enhance financial systems / ERP tools, and ensure scalability as the business grows.

Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience
• At least 5+ years in a senior finance role within investment management or broader financial services
• Experience working in entrepreneurial / fast-moving financial services businesses
• Able to commit to 2-3 days per week on a hybrid basis
