Overview

Mencap have a part‑time (16 hours) Female Support Worker position available to join our incredible team in Mold, Flintshire. As a Female Support Worker, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Responsibilities

As a Female Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and care to individuals with learning disabilities. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Encouraging and supporting individuals to develop their social, emotional, and educational skills.
  • Monitoring and recording the health and wellbeing of individuals, reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Providing and support people with learning disabilities to ensure they can play a vital role in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Supporting the person to meet their personal ambitions while they are employing the individual in a whole day through a whole day.
Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own car.
Contract and Shift Times

Contract options: Part‑time (16 hours). Shifts: The services are 24hr care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your personal and social life. There is a non‑contractual sleep‑in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

Eligibility and Sponsorship

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Mencap is a licensed sponsor but we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests.
