Essex County Council in Colchester is seeking a Part Time Support Worker for the Family Time and Support Service North. The role supports children in care to enjoy safe, meaningful Family Time, in line with care plans, and collaborates with social workers to deliver targeted interventions.

You will be educated to NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or have equivalent experience, with a commitment to safeguarding, reporting, and working with partners to improve outcomes for children and families.

Qualificações

• Educated to NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in social care.
• Experience building relationships with children and families in crisis.
• Experience observing, facilitating and reporting on Family Time.
• Experience undertaking direct activity-based work with children and families.
• Knowledge of issues affecting children and families and related policy guidance.
• Proven track record of working with partner and external agencies.
• First Aid certificate and/or sign language knowledge desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Support children in care to have safe, meaningful family time per care plans.
• Assist social workers to implement and monitor care plans and write reports.
• Maintain high professional standards and contribute to service improvement.
• Highlight issues and help safeguard children.
• Build strong relationships with service users and partners to sustain change.
• Collaborate across the service with internal and external agencies for better outcomes.
• Provide information on accessing third-party agencies (benefits, immigration, housing).
• Participate in meetings, reviews, case conferences and court hearings.

Formação académica

NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent experience

First Aid certificate (desirable)

Sign Language knowledge (desirable)
