Job summary

St Mary's Church of England Primary School, Yate is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support EYFS and assist with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons. The role is fixed term for 14.75 hours per week (Mondays & Tuesdays all day plus Wednesday mornings) until 31/08/2027.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 GCSEs including English and Maths, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to student needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths.
• Experience of assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff.
• Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both whole-class and individual.
• Prepare resources to support learning activities.
• Support pupils pastorally and help create an engaging learning environment.
