Job summary

York College is seeking reliable invigilation staff to support examinations. You will provide tailored support for students with Exam Access Arrangements, including reading and scribing, ensure exam rooms are prepared, and oversee compliance with exam rules.

Role involves maintaining registers, reporting absences, handling scripts for dispatch, and upholding College policies on health, safety and data protection. Training will be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Exam Access Arrangements such as reading or scribing.
• Ability to read clearly in a neutral tone and avoid personal interpretation.
• Maintain calm, controlled voice to not disrupt exam proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination room before candidates arrive and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Complete attendance registers and report absences; follow emergency procedures.
• Collate and organise exam papers, return unused stationery, and tidy the room after sessions.
• Prepare scripts for dispatch to awarding bodies and adhere to data protection policies.
