Job summary

East Lancashire Learning Group's Accrington campus is seeking a part-time hourly paid English Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English. The role is term-time only, with 9–18 teaching hours per week across 38 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team, hold a recognised teaching qualification and a degree in English or related subject, and pave the way for students to achieve strong GCSE outcomes.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised teaching qualification.
• Holds a degree in English or related subject, or a degree in an alternative subject plus A Level English.
• Has experience of delivering GCSE English in an FE, Sixth Form or Secondary setting.
• Experience of teaching Functional Skills English is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess GCSE and/or Functional Skills English learners on 16-19 study programmes.
• The ideal candidate will be a dynamic practitioner who promotes and upholds the same high expectations as the College and its students.
• With a focus on continuous professional development, engage with quality processes to ensure an Outstanding student experience.
